Elizabeth became interested in Family Medicine because of its great variety and opportunity to develop relationships. She loves people and is passionate about preventative medicine and helping people to make lifestyle changes and be knowledgeable about their own health.
Bio for Elizabeth Smoot
Elizabeth was born and raised in Southwest Missouri. She attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville for undergraduate school, where she studied Kinesiology. She moved to Columbia in 2015 to pursue a Master’s in Healthcare Administration at the University Missouri and following that attended Stephens College in 2017 for Physician Assistant School. She and her husband love Columbia and enjoy all of the local restaurants. They also enjoy spending time with their family and friends, gardening, hiking, biking the MKT, and playing with their English bulldog. Elizabeth is excited to join Dr. Gessling in helping to provide excellent primary care for the citizens of Columbia.
Elizabeth received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Arkansas in May 2013. She then obtained her Master of Health Administration at the University of Missouri in May 2017, and finally her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Stephens College in December of 2019.
